New Beginnings!!!!!!
Today…. on July 18th 2011, I will officially be taking my last final. As soon as I cap my pen, I am done with my college career!!! YAY ME!
So what now?
Job? More school? What do I REALLY want to do. At his point in my life everything is an open opportunity. I can travel if I wish to do so. I can also be a bum and live off my parents. I can also go back to school for a Masters. I can also go to nursing school and get an ADN which will eventually lead me to an MSN. I can also get a research job in the biotech industry and work my way to the top. I can also start running my own bakery business. So many options….
Floating around in graduate limbo is not too much fun… options are endless yet restricting at the same time. The only thing I know for sure now is that I’m graduating with a Bachelors. It took me long enough but I did it! (And really thats all that matters).
So here is my plan of action for the next year or so of my life (I like planning ahead… like AHEAD ahead). :P
1 - Find a job
So Ive been doing the whole phone interview/face to face interview with a few companies now and so far… all rejected. The job market is in the pits and my situation is further aggravated by the fact that I have no research experience. Im praying that more Entry Level jobs open up.
2- To nurse or not to nurse?
Nursing… If I cant be a cake decorator/fat ass, then my next best option is nursing. AGAIN, unfortunately, my grades arent exactly up to par with the other candidates who wish to pursue an MSN after a BS degree in another field. So my options thus far are accelerated BSN or ADN. With my sub-par GPA I think going into ADN would be my best chances followed by the accelerated BSN (assuming by some miracle they take pity on my poor soul). LOL The future is not so bleak. There is a silver lining to every cloud… you just gotta find it right? Well I suppose that my silver lining is that not all hope is lost! I can definitely achieve MSN status through an RN-MSN or ADN-MSN program. I just have to KICK MAJOR ASS in classes and work experience. So that will probably take up the next… oh… 6 years of my life? Not too shabby. So I need to find a program STAT and start working on my pre-reqs.
3- BAKING!!
Since I wont become a world renowned cake decorator, but I can still be an awesome baker! Ive decided that since I will have copious amounts of free time (after running errands and various chores for my parents), I am going to transfrom this blog about me… into a Baking Blog!! :D :D YAY! First, I need a name for my blog. Then, all I have to do is bake deliciousness and share it all on Tumblr. Maybe I’ll be the next Bakerella (http://www.bakerella.com). Shes so awesome. :)
